File Splitting and File Joining

Ever encountered file extensions like "xxx.avi.001" "xxx.avi.002" ?
These are the files which are split by file splitting software like "hjsplit".

You can join them together by using those software, too.
The most common I've seen is "hjsplit" which I mentioned above, and I personally been using it for a long time.
However there are alternatives, too.

The Fastest File Splitter and Joiner (FFSJ) - http://www.jaist.ac.jp/~hoangle/filesj/

Both of it offer a "use without install" executable file (Yes, you can translate it as "portable".) And FFSJ even offers a standard version. Look up in their websites for more details.


File splitting are usually useful while you need to share a large file or files over a cloud storage or physical storage. For cloud storage like the famous RapidShare, MegaUpload, FileServe, FileSonic, etc, large files usually give a lot of disadvantages except 'single or fewer link(s)'.

On physical storage side, we know that most usb flash drive are formatted in FAT32, that are not allow for transferring file which are larger than 4GB in size, even if you have a 16GB usb flash drive. Therefore we need to split the file. Of course you can choose to format into NTFS, but it has it disadvantages too, especially on a usb flash drive.


Side note: File archiving software usually has the split file features too. Like the one in 7-Zip.

File Splitting and File Joining can be very fast or very slow depending on the file size and the speed of your CPU.

HowTo Bypass Hosts File

1) Manually remove it from Hosts File.
Location ->  C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\Etc\hosts

2)

   Enter the URL like this : www.www.facebook.com

and add certificate exception on most browsers.
(or add even more www.)

Innacomm W3400V wireless Modem

Or you may call it as "InnaShit W3400V USELESS modem".

Can you ever imagine a modem that can block you (the owner) from accessing it?
Yes, even with the network cable connected.
This means you can do nothing to it, including port forwarding, DHCP, changing wireless password, SSID, etc.

Okay, not everyone have this problem. But majority of users complain this:
Even the wireless features is turned ON, laptops/mobile devices still cannot connect to it given the wireless password is correct. Sometimes you can't even find the SSID in wireless list.
This problem actually annoys me very much when I'm just started using it, I was thinking maybe something wrong with my settings, but it appeared to be not.
However this problem is getting better and better, at least now don't need to try 100 times before you can connect to it, 8 out of 10 it will connect automatically. Note that when the very first time, only 1 out of 10, else you need to try at least 10 times. (You have to wait between each try to get it appear on your wireless list.)

Missing UPNP and many other features... There are just too many to complain about this modem. Google it and you'll find a lot. To be honest, this is the worst modem I've ever seen. (I've used Aztech, D-Link, TP-Link...)
If Streamyx a.k.a Screamyx offers you, please, for god sake, ask for a change.

For current user, please throw it into the dustbin, break it hard before that.

It's just another product of Malaysia.

[HowTo] Bypass Malaysia ISP (TMnet Streamyx) blocking File-Sharing Websites

Recently Malaysia SKMM has file a report requested Malaysia ISP TMnet Streamyx (a.k.a TmNut Screamyx/Snailmyx) to block several famous File-Sharing websites, such as www.thepiratebay.org, www.megaupload.com, www.fileserve.com and more, for the reason of "Cyber-Crime".
In case you don't aware of it, refer to the image below :

In case you face difficulties connecting to these websites, try bypass it with the following method :
1) openDNS
2) Google DNS

For Google DNS, just fire up your Network Connection (or Network and Sharing center), Adapter Settings and find your connection, open properties.
Select IPv4 and open properties, notice the DNS server address below, change the "preferred" to 8.8.8.8 and "alternate" to 8.8.4.4 or vice versa.
For the other entry, kindly press "Windows key + R" to fire up RUN, enter "cmd" without quotes, type in "ipconfig /all" without quotes in command prompt appeared, and match the values there.

After these, Disconnect your Network Connection and connect again, try go to the blocked websites again, it should be fine.
